Mandonelles take third place in state 5A drill team competition

The Bountiful Mandonelles placed third overall at the 5A state championships, taking third in each of the Military, Show and Dance categories during an all day competition at Utah Valley University on Feb. 5.

“We are proud of how they performed their very challenging routines and they could not have done any better,” said head coach Alba Butler. “We are proud. We will be back better and stronger next year.”

The Redhawks were also given the 5A sportsmanship award, which is a recognition voted on by the other teams in the classification. “They won it for their kindness and respect towards others which is a great one for us,” Butler said.

Those who were on the Mandonelles this year were Liberty Biesinger, Helle Braun, Taya Budge, Molly Clapham, Taylor Davidson, Jorden Day, Kate Derrick, Aspen Gehring, Elsa Harper, Armani Haslam, Kennedy Hendricks, Elizabeth Hess, Jasmine Icasiano, Cambree LeBaron, Lily Lewis,  Olivia Lyman, Jayci Malmrose, Addi Morton, Charlotte Murray, Bella Oborn, Leigha Ozminski, Hannah Palfreyman, Camryn Page, Paige Robinson, Sophia Stamp, Mckinley Tidwell, Ali Viner, Kari Wersland, Adee Walton, Kenzie Westergard and Eirelyn Wood.

Butler was assisted by MKenzie Kasteler and Kali Breckenridge on the coaching staff.
