Bountiful

Bountiful swept Box Elder 26-24, 25-11, 25-20 Oct. 17 to remain undefeated in Region 5 through 13 matches.

The Redhawks have a 19-7 season record.

Viewmont

Viewmont took down Roy in three sets 25-17, 25-13, 25-14 Oct. 17.

“We had great team play from everyone,” said head coach Karl Lippa. “We had some great play from so many players that allowed the team to win the match 3-0. Primarily our serve-receive as a team was exceptional, creating excellent setting decisions from both of our setters to execute the offense well. With such an effective offense, our defense matched the effort perfectly. I felt our blocking created opportunities for our defensive specialist to play well.”

The Vikings are now 7-6 in Region 5 and 12-11 this year.

“We are working towards peaking in our postseason play,” Lippa said. “I was pleased with our match.”

Woods Cross

Woods Cross swept Northridge 25-16, 25-21, 25-18 Oct. 17.

Sophomore Avery Poulton put away 12 kills, hitting at a .345 clip, to lead the Wildcats with freshman Alisi Tapa’atoutai adding seven. Poulton completed a double-double, recording 10 digs – to go with four blocks – in leading the defense, with freshman Brylee Howard also recording eight digs on the back line. Freshman setter Zamari Christensen ran the offense in the win with 20 assists.

Woods Cross has a 12-1 Region 5 mark and are 21-6 on the season.

Taylor and Whitney teamed up for 11 of the team’s 13 aces from the serving line while senior Brady Day ran the offense with 37 assists. On defense, Goates had nine blocks at the net with Day and Whitney also recording five each. Senior Quincy Wilson led in digs with 15 with senior Kaylee Monroe and Whitney adding 10 each.
