Farmington will roll out a new varsity lineup as well as a new head coach this year after legendary coach Van Price retired following last season.

“We don’t have a ton of varsity game time experience, so we are trying to get that experience in practice,” said head coach Tara Ferrin. “Our focus is on playing as a team and working to control what we have the ability to control and that is our effort.”

The Phoenix squad will consist of seniors Kate Garff, Ava Goff, Brynn Ryan, Jazmi Spence and Olivia Tobler; juniors Liberty Anderson, Breklyn Archibald, Amira Bell, Emilie Figlioli, Macy Fox, Hailey Larsen and Katie Myers; sophomores Maleah Beddes, Katherine Gordon, Gifty Hirst, Kathleen Moffat, Hallie Neuenswander, Morgan Rogers, Ellie Schow, Gabrielle Spence, Brooklyn Symes and Jade Ward; and freshmen Emily Bell, Kinsley Johnson and Hazel Myers.

“We will make mistakes early, but as we gain experience those mistakes will begin to turn into our strengths,” Ferrin said. “We are looking forward to playing some games and switching players around to see what works best for us on the court.

Ferrin will be assisted on the coaching staff this season by Hilary Noel, Derek Nyman, Teagan Dagley and Tricia Ferrin along with managers Abi Morgan and Jacey Peterson.

“We are excited to be working with this group of girls,” said head coach Tara Ferrin. “They are hardworking and improving each day.”

Farmington begins the season Nov. 28 against Bonneville and will play Woods Cross, Viewmont, Cyprus, Murray, Spanish Fork, Northridge, Taylorsville, Granger and Pleasant Grove before home-and-away games begin Jan. 16 against Weber, Fremont, Layton, Davis and Syracuse.
