The Davis girls placed first at the Davis District Meet and the boys came in third in the tightly-contested meet that put Davis second overall.

“This was a hard-fought meet with lots of really close finishes,” said head coach Kit Barker. “Many of our swimmers were facing mental and physical obstacles and they stared them in the face and overcame them! Our theme this year is, ‘If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you,’ and they are learning that facing challenges can make them a better person.”

Garrett Barker won the 200 free while also placing second in the 500 free. Other medalists in the top six were Allie Allen (third, 500 free; sixth, 200 IM), Bryson Bernhardt (fourth, 100 free; sixth, 50 free), Sam Landheim (fourth, 50 free; fifth, 100 fly), Micah Hale (fifth, 100 free; fifth, 200 free), Nahlia Stewart (fifth, 100 fly; sixth, 50 free), Lilly Wood (fifth, 500 free), Jane Bassett (sixth, 100 back) and Maureen Karren (sixth, 100 breast).
