Holy Cross Hospital – Davis welcomed a baby girl at 1:55 a.m. Jan. 1. She arrived early at about 31 weeks and weighed 3 lbs. 4 oz. She is being cared for in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Mom, dad and her three older siblings are happy to welcome her into their family and are deciding on the perfect name for the little girl.

Ezra was the first baby born in 2024 at Lakeview Hospital arriving at 10:54 a.m. on New Year’s Day. The 7-pound, 6-ounce baby boy was welcomed by mom Tia and dad Elvis, from Kaysville. He is their second child.

“It’s fun that Ezra is the first baby of the year born at Lakeview Hospital,” said Tia. “What a fun experience for Ezra as he grows up – to know he was the first baby in the New Year!”

Kahleo Kohana Paz made his debut as the first baby in 2024 at Intermountain Layton Hospital at 12:25 a.m. New Year’s Day, just seven minutes shy of being the first baby born in Utah in the new year. Kahleo weighed in at 7 lbs 8 oz and measured 20.5 inches long. He is the son of Kyleigh Ramos and Anthony Paz who are from Pleasant View. Kahleo is their first child.

The couple came in on Dec. 29 but after two days of labor, things were not progressing and Kyleigh opted for the recommended C-section.

“The timing just happened to line up,” said Kyleigh. “We knew he would be the first baby when they prepared me for the C-section and they asked if I was ready to have a New Year’s baby.”
