The Farmington High Nixelles won the Region 1 championship Jan. 20 at Weber High School, sweeping the Military, Dance and Show categories. “The Region 1 talent is so crazy good,” said coach Shalice Larsen. “All the teams were incredible.” On the FHS squad this season are Ava Barkdull, Preslle Blaser, Ireland Brown, Maylee Carter, Avery Chandler, Zaida Christensen, McKinley Daly, Ella Edmunds, Maren Glassey, Kierra Grant, Lilly Goff, Ava Hammond, Hailey Harrison, Kenya Holbrook, Riley Jensen, Addison Landon, Ava Larsen, Chanel Lee, Abby Lloyd, Ciara Montoya, Sydney Nash, Kiley Nixon, Alexus Oladi, Kayen Phelps. Greta Poulson, Lexey Rigby, Rayden Robison, Brynlee Sanders, Clara Short, Hali Stromberg, Reagan Tracy and Samantha Yeates. Larsen is assisted on the coaching staff by Allie Short, Marci Hartvigsen and Sue Bagley. Also finishing among the top three in Region 1 were the Davis High D’Ettes who placed second in Dance and third in Military and Show to take third overall.
