Davis

Davis played Ridgeline Dec. 15 instead of its regularly-scheduled matchup against Bonneville – due to the Lakers being in quarantine – and won 51-43.

“After a crazy day of figuring out the logistics of finding a game to replace Bonneville, we traveled to Ridgeline in Cache Valley,” head coach Anne Jones said. “It was a fun, intense pressure-packed game. Both teams played with a lot of energy and we were able to come out victorious.”

The game was a two-point affair until the Darts closed the win out with a 23-point fourth quarter effort – to Bonneville’s 17.

Kendra Kitchen led the Darts in scoring, putting in all 16 of her points in the second half. Kylee Mabry added 14 while Callie Tolman also had double figures with 10 points. Taylor Leavitt (five points), Phoebe Arnold (three) and Morgan Burnett (three) also scored for Davis.

Harvey scored 21 points with Satuala adding 16 while Johnson (eight points), Fouts (four), Broom (four), Macie Johnson (two), Chism (one) and McConkie (one) also contributed offensively.

Against Westlake in the Beetdigger Classic Dec. 17, Viewmont lost 49-34. The Vikings got down early, scoring just four points in the opening quarter before closing the gap to get within 5 points by the half. But, Viewmont managed just 15 points the rest of the way in the 15-point loss.

The game was even through the first quarter with the teams tied at 13-all before West took a three-point lead into half. Woods Cross went up three after the third quarter – with a 17-point effort – before closing out the four-point win.

“I was really proud of everyone for their effort to do their very best,” Simon said. “Of the girls that started, three of them played the entire game.”

Freshman Katie King led the Wildcats with 19 points while Annie Michaelis (nine points), Kenna Cowley (nine), Lauran Bodily (six), Kelly King (four), Macy Richards (two) and Julianna Stanger (one) also scored.

“We played well and finally were able to score some points,” Simon said. “We were able to play, but we were very thin. Several of those eight players start or play significant time in varsity games.”

Woods Cross’ next two games against Skyline and Logan have been cancelled with the Dec. 30 matchup at Northridge as the next on the schedule.

The win brings the Wildcats’ record to 1-3 on the year.
