BOUNTIFUL—C-A-L Ranch Stores, a farm, ranch, and home store, has announced plans to open a new store at the former Rite Aid located at 535 S. Main St. in Bountiful. The completion of this project and its grand opening will be held in the spring of 2021.

That site has been vacant for more than three years. Previously, a developer had approached the city about opening an indoor gun range at that location, but those plans apparently fell through.

Jason Miller, Vice President of Marketing at C-A-L Ranch, stated in a press release that, “we pride ourselves being a go-to destination for all of your family’s essentials. We are excited about our new location in Bountiful and look forward to serving the community and surrounding areas.” He also told the Davis Journal that he’s been through Bountiful many times, visiting friends and family. “We love the Bountiful community and we’re excited to become a part of it.”

He said interior remodeling began on Monday, with a little work to be done on the rear of the building as well, “but it is structurally in pretty good shape.” He didn’t have an exact timeline for opening, but said hopes are to have it completed this spring. 

C-A-L Ranch Stores are located in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Idaho. Bountiful will be the 10th store location in Utah. The company has a strong reputation for supporting 4-H, FFA, and High School and Jr. High School Rodeo, amongst other farm and ranch community events.    

C-A-L Ranch Stores was founded in 1959 in Idaho Falls by Clinton, Allen and L. Wayne Murphy, using their initials to create the C-A-L brand. The stores are known for providing home, farm, and ranch supplies including pet food, tools and hardware, outdoor gear for camping, hunting, and fishing as well as feed, tack, and fencing supplies. Additionally, the company carries a wide selection of clothing and footwear for the whole family in western, work, and everyday styles from top brands.

The company opened its first Utah location in 1998 in Logan. Since then, Utah stores have opened in Spanish fork, American Fork, Farr West, Tooele, West Jordan, Vernal, Layton and St. George. It also has a distribution center in Payson.
