Davis Journal is partnering with Mountain Orthopaedics of Bountiful for our Athletes of the Week and our Athletes of the Month contest. Winners were chosen by our Journal sportswriters with input from local coaches.

Our January Female Athlete of the Month is Bountiful swimmer Elliott Howe. She has been a star for the past four years, and is ranked among the state’s top swimmers in several events. She has signed to swim for the University of Kansas next year. Our January Male Athlete of the Month is Bountiful basketball player Robert Whaley. The talented senior, who will play for the College of Southern Idaho next year, is averaging 18.1 points per game for the Braves. He is a dominating presence both on offense and defense 

 for Bountiful.

Congratulations to both of these athletes who will be honored by Mountain Orthopaedics later this spring.
