Davis Journal is partnering with Mountain Orthopaedics of Bountiful for our Athletes of the Week and our Athletes of the Month contest. Winners were chosen by our Journal sportswriters with input from local coaches.

Our February Male Athlete of the Month is Farmington basketball player Collin Chandler. The talented junior, already being heavily recruited collegiately, is averaging over 22 points per game for the Phoenix, who are in the final eight for this year’s 5A state boys tournament.

Our February Female Athlete of the Month is Davis swimmer Lauryn Hall. Only a junior, she has paced the Darts’ efforts for three years and set a state record in the 50 freestyle at last month’s state 6A championships. She has medaled in most every 

event this season.

Congratulations to both of these athletes who will be honored by Mountain Orthopaedics later this spring.
