Davis Journal is partnering with Mountain Orthopaedics of Bountiful for our Athletes of the Week contest. Winners were chosen by our Journal sportswriters with input from local coaches.

Our male athletes of the week are the starters for the state champion Davis Darts! They include basketball players Chance Trujillo, Colby Sims, Henry Ihrig, Rex Sunderland and Max Painter. Congrats, champs! 

Other male nominees were basketball players Collin Chandler and Truman Hendry of Farmington, the state runner-ups in 5A.

Our female athlete of the week is Farmington basketball player Delaney Baker, a junior, who scored 37 points and had 22 rebounds in the Phoenix’ victories over Skyline and Olympus and the loss to Springville in the state 5A championships. Farmington finished second and won the silver trophy.
