Auditions for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in Layton

LAYTON—On Pitch Performing Arts (OPPA!) is holding auditions for its production of “Beauty and the Beast” on April 20 and 21. The musical will be performed at the Ed Kenley Amphitheatre in Layton this summer.

Auditions will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at OPPA’s headquarters, 587 N. Main Street in Layton. Callbacks will be by invitation only on Saturday, April 24 as needed.

This classic musical story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town and the Beast, who is really a young Prince trapped under the spell of an Enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

With music and lyrics from the iconic duo of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, this family friendly show is great for performers of all ages.

Tiffani Allen and Dan Tate are slated to direct this production. Tiffani and Dan "are so excited to work on this Disney classic. We are looking to really expand our casting of this show in an effort to make it more open to everyone. This is a great opportunity for families to come and participate in theatre together. There is a spot for all ages.”
