BOUNTIFUL— For those who have talent to share or for those who enjoy watching a performance, Bountiful’s Got Talent will be putting on their 12th annual concert in the city park on June 25 at 7 p.m.

Auditions are being held Wednesday, May 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Wednesday, May 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Auditions will be held in the Joy Foundation Studio (55 N. Main St., Bountiful).

“We get a variety of acts every year, usually musical talents such as guitar, bands, and vocalists,” said Richard Watson, the main coordinator and judge of the event.

COVID restrictions will be in place for auditions and performances. Appointments must be made ahead of time for an audition, only the performer and their immediate family may attend the audition and social distancing and mask wearing will be in effect. Exception is made for the performer during their act.

Because of COVID there have not been as many people signing up to audition.

“The city is hoping to get at least 20 people to apply, but only a few applications have come in,” Watson said.

Auditions will be available to watch on the “Bountiful City’s Music in The Park” Facebook page. Applications for auditions are available on the Bountiful City website or in the Joy Foundation Studio during auditions.

After the first auditions are done, a final audition will be announced later with the final performance being on June 25.

The 1st place winner of the talent show will win a $300 prize, the 2nd will win $200 and the 3rd $100.

“The prize money is provided by the city through the concert budget which is raised through sponsorships and other concerts,” Watson said. “There are also honorable mentions we do some years where one or two people will win a $50 prize.”
