Athletes of the Week

Davis Journal is partnering with Mountain Orthopaedics of Bountiful for our Athletes of the Week contest. Winners were chosen by our Journal sportswriters with input from local coaches.


Our male athlete of the week is Woods Cross baseball player Bryson Clements. He had a triple and 5 RBIs in a win over Bonneville, and then hit a home run and drove in three more runs in a second victory over Bonneville.


Other male nominees were:


Karson Vanderhoof, Woods Cross soccer goalie, with a shutout over Bonneville.

Cameron Bingham, Farmington boys soccer, who scored twice in the win over Box Elder.

Jude Walker, Davis soccer goalie with a shutout over Northridge and just one goal scored against in a narrow loss to unbeaten Weber.

Rhett Rice of Davis lacrosse for 9 goals in wins over Northridge and Weber.

Bountiful lacrosse player Hayden Hanson, who had 16 goals in the Braves’ three games last week.

Farmington lacrosse player Brayden Buckley, who scored eight times in wins over Woods Cross and Box Elder.

Our female athlete of the week is Farmington softball star Delaney Baker, who not only pitched in the four Phoenix wins last week, but also drove in 15 runs. She has become a dominant player in the state of Utah.

Other female nominees were:

Bountiful softball player Livi Arona, who had five RBIs in wins over Box Elder and Bonneville.

Woods Cross softball players Not Latu and Ali Ebberts, both of whom had six RBIs for the Wildcats last week.

Bountiful golfer Vanna Einerson, medalist at Eagle Mountain on April 19.

Davis golfer Victoria Castro, who was medalist at Valley View on April 23.

Davis lacrosse player Samantha Wilkes, with 15 goals and 3 assists in wins over Northridge and Weber for the undefeated Darts.
