Bountiful’s boys picked up its first win of the season with an 18-6 win over Viewmont March 24. “We played well,” head coach Peter Jordan said, noting the performances of senior attack man Sam LeFevre who had six goals and two assists and junior long pole Cole Terry who had 19 ground balls, three assists and a goal. “They had great games.”

The Bountiful girls defeated Viewmont 6-5 March 23 in its first game of the season. The Braves went up 4-1 early and held on for the narrow win.

“It was a great first game for the new girls and was really evenly matched,” head coach Olivia Cook said.

Emily Stewart had four goals and Synnove (Sunny) Price-Huish added two for the Braves.

“Grace Nixon played goalie and just started playing lacrosse last week and had some amazing saves,” Cook said.

Against Woods Cross March 25, Bountiful lost 12-9.

“It was a really great game,” Cook said, noting freshman midfielder Naomi Bryson’s play. “She played so great on the entire field. She has no lacrosse experience and has picked it up so quickly. She is aggressive, has great footwork and is hungry to create turnovers and opportunities on defense.”

Lauren Jensen led the Braves with four goals while Price-Huish scored two with Maddi Stott and Millie Urie adding one each.

Bountiful lost to Farmington 17-3 April 13. Lauren Jensen led the Braves with two goals while Emily Stewart added the third Bountiful score.

“It was a really tough game for our girls as almost all of them are brand new to lacrosse,” Cope said. “This was the first team that we played were it looked like everyone from the other team was pretty experienced in lacrosse, but it’s always a learning experience and I think my girls have a few takeaways from losing a game like that.”

Against Box Elder April 15, the Braves lost 19-10. Bountiful was 2-3 on the season to this point.
