FARMINGTON—Construction of the West Davis Corridor is well underway and is currently on track to be completed in 2024.

“The 16 mile, four lane highway is a forward connection of Legacy Parkway,” said Mitch Shaw, senior communication manager, Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). “We started an $8 million environmental impact study in 2010. It’s a required federal mandate.”

It was a long process, he said. “We looked at the environmental impact, right of way and talked to local government, cities and counties, residents, commuters, school districts and businesses. It wasn’t final until we got permission from the federal government. We got started with construction in May 2021.”

The $740 million corridor runs from Legacy at Glovers Lane in Farmington north to State Route 193 in West Point. “There will be separate interchanges at Legacy Parkway at the I-15 junction in Farmington, 950 North in Farmington, 200 North in Kaysville, 2700 West in Layton and 2000 West in Syracuse,” Shaw said. “The extension includes 10 miles of new trail that connects to the Immigration trail and the existing Legacy Parkway trail.”

Updates on the current projects include:

Bluff Road (Syracuse)

• Sewer line installation has begun along Bluff Road, with crews working southward from 3000 West.

• To accommodate this work, Bluff Road is closed to through-traffic between Antelope Drive and 3000 West until Sunday, Feb. 6. Access will be maintained for residents traveling northbound from Antelope Drive.

• UDOT and Syracuse City will continue to coordinate on plowing and salting efforts.

200 North (Kaysville) (NEW)

• Crews have closed the westbound left lane of 200 North between Bonneville Lane and Wellington Drive to address recent road damage. Traffic has been shifted to the north shoulder.

• Additional impacts and a timeline for the closure will be announced after an assessment of the damage occurs.

Glovers Lane (Farmington) (NEW)

• The new Glovers Lane temporary bypass gives crews and hauling vehicles additional space to perform necessary work in the area.

• This bypass between 1100 West and 650 West on Glovers Lane in Farmington was striped Sunday, Jan. 23. The bypass was open to vehicles, bikes, and pedestrian traffic Monday, Jan. 24.

650 West (Farmington) (NEW)

• Piles driven in 2021 on 650 West in Farmington have now reached their final settlement points underground.

• Starting Monday, Jan. 24, crews began hauling out surcharge, or excess dirt previously used to stabilize piles while they settled, out of the area. Trucks will utilize existing haul routes.

• Installation of a new sewer line is scheduled along 650 West between Feb. 1 and Feb. 18.

• Please expect increased truck traffic in this area.

Legacy Parkway (Farmington)

• Steel sheet pile driving is underway along northbound Legacy Parkway. These sheets will serve as future retaining walls for this portion of the future highway.

• Additional pile driving operations are anticipated to begin in early February.
