College scholarships from AFCU

America First Credit Union is calling for submissions for its charitable foundation scholarship program. The credit union will be awarding 10 $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students at two- and four-year technical colleges or universities who work to serve others. This is the fourth year of the program.

Applicants are required to submit community service hours, their grade point average and a current transcript. They must also submit a short essay on how their community service exemplifies AFCU’s philosophy for helping others. Details online at americafirst.com.

Tax help available

Tax help through the VITA program of volunteers is available on Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bountiful City Building, 795 S. Main Street. No appointment is necessary and helpers will work each week through April 14.
