Youth Artist Concert set for May 13 in West Bountiful

This year’s annual Young Artist Concert, hosted by the West Bountiful City Arts Council on Friday, May 13, will celebrate the developing talents of young artists ages 5 to 18.

A select choir from West Bountiful Elementary, under the direction of teachers Melanie Miller and Ronda Dalrymple Turnblom, will treat concertgoers to a special performance. The full choir of K-6 students rehearses one morning a week at 7:45 a.m.  They usually perform twice a year, at Christmastime and in the spring, and have performed at the Dickens Festival as well as at several care centers. This select choir of 28 will be made up of 6th graders and their siblings. They will sing “You’re Welcome” from Moana; and “When I Grow Up” from Matilda.

The program will also showcase nine special grandchildren with a variety of developing talents and include, a dance routine to music from “High School Musical,” organized and directed by a 12-year-old granddaughter, two vocal solos (ages 8 and 12), a grandma- granddaughter piano duet, and a Karate demonstration by two great-great grandsons (ages 4 and 7). The evening will culminate with a performance by an 18-year-old granddaughter soprano soloist, who recently performed in New York City with her Madrigal group.

Please join us on Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m., for this final concert of our Winter/Spring concert series. We also invite you to join us again the second Friday of September when our 2022 Fall/Winter concert series begins and will bring the talented Mike Murphy: composer, guitarist, and vocalist to our concert stage.
