Children’s Entrepreneur Market is coming June 18

May 06, 2022 02:51PM ● By Cindi Mansell

Utah is a leader in enabling entrepreneurs to achieve their goals and grow their companies. Now, we’re teaching the next generation how. We host markets all throughout Utah, giving children many opportunities to hone their business skills. You can take part in one, or all of them!

Children’s Market was founded in 2016 by an ambitious 9-year-old boy who wanted to share his successful lemonade stand venture with his friends. It has now grown to include over 1,500 families and 12 cities.

Kaysville’s event will be held on June 18  from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heritage Park, 250 N. Fairfield Road in Kaysville. Admission is free.

The market program runs all summer with a few special events during the fall, winter and spring. The goal of the market is to allow children a safe and supportive venue to gain experience in a free market environment. Children may sell anything they have created themselves or have helped in the value-added process.

The kids get real world experience in creating goods, packaging them for sale, pricing, setting up shop, attracting customers and exchanging money. The market always bustles with activity as the kids engage in the transactions. The variety is never-ending and there is everything from baked goods to hand-made toys and services and more. Shoppers love coming to support these ambitious kids and score all kinds of impressive items for themselves or for gifts.

Registering children entrepreneurs is easy–parents simply fill out the form on the website at childrensentrepreneur.com. If you would like to be a sponsor for this year’s market, please contact the coordinators at that web address. Sponsors make this event possible. Organizers are also always open to new venue opportunities, so if you would like to host a market, please reach out as well. λ
