Simonsen to be honored at May 18 event

May 12, 2022 11:01AM ● By Tom Haraldsen
Former Bountiful City Councilman and long-time pediatric dentist Chris
Simonsen will be a featured guest at the Honor365 event on May 18 at
Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. He will be honored for his dedication to U.S.
Veterans, particularly for his efforts in heading up creation and construction
of the Bountiful Veterans Park.

Melissa Sullivan, deputy director for Honor365, said the organization is
dedicated to “remembering, and serving our veterans, first responders,
and their families. Our goal for 2022 is to raise $250K to serve individuals
and their families so they can receive therapeutic services at no cost to
them as we continue to strive to achieve our vision of a world without
suicide.”

The program, to be held at the Megaplex Theatres at Thanksgiving Point,
will include the premiere of “Liberty James,” a new musical tribute to
America created by local musicians headed by Jim Wells (see separate
story about Liberty James). All proceeds from ticket sales to the event
along with a raffle will benefit Honor365.

“Mr. Simonsen’s work and his passion for saluting veterans is astounding,
and something we’re very proud to honor him for at this event,” Sullivan
said. It goes hand in hand with Honor365’s mission.

"We understand first responder and veteran suicide is of great concern,”
said Dr. Ninzel Rasmuson, Founder and Executive Director of Honor365.
“From firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, 911 dispatchers, veterans, and
our troops, and so many others who are on the front line of helping those in
need, the stress from this line of work takes its toll. Honor365 will continue
to support the wellness of those we serve by helping those who help us
every day.”

Tickets for the event are limited, and include entries into the HEROES
MEGA raffle for prizes that include Samsung Smart TVs, an Apple 64GB
Ipad Air, a Galaxy Tablet A8, an Oculus Quest GV VR headset, a Canon
EOS 4000D Digital SLR, an Ecotric 28” Lithium Power Mountain Bike and
more. You can also enjoy the live-streamed program for those who cannot
attend.

"We are excited about the opportunity to share about Honor365 at the
Liberty James Music Premiere and we are honored to be the benefiting
charity of such a special event,” Rasmuson said. "We have received
tremendous support from Liberty James, his team, citizens and
communities around Utah, and beyond. This means so much to us as an
organization and, more importantly, to the veterans, first responders, and
their families who greatly appreciate the support."

Tickets can be purchased at libertyjames.com, and contributions to the
organization can be made at https://honor365.org or via Venmo at Honor
