Cops and Lemonade Challenge a summertime tradition in Kaysville

Aug 08, 2022 12:25PM ● By Cindi Mansell

Kaysville Police Officers have been staying busy and stopping out at every lemonade stand possible as part of the 2022 Cops and Lemonade Challenge. It pits different city emergency responders against one another to help kids with lemonade stands.

As of mid-July, the contest results were as follows, with Kaysville leading out:

Kaysville Police: 81

Weber County Sheriff's Office: 4

Bountiful City Police Department:37

Utah Division of Wildlife Resources: 2

North Salt Lake PD: 16

Utah Highway Patrol: 1

Kaysville Fire Department: 3

Woods Cross Police: 2

Lone Peak Police: 1

This contest is a super “feel good” effort in the community and citizens love their police department. One concerned citizen was worried that the police officers should receive a “lemonade stipend” for their efforts.

Resident Jen Nifer said, “Great Police unit! Kaysville is such a homey town and in this city the police officers and citizens do not divide, they unite and conquer. This should be everywhere in America.”

Resident Jaime Blankman said, “My family and I love our Kaysville Police. We like to help them every chance we get. My youngest son wants to be a Kaysville Police officer when he grows up. Thank you to ALL our officers for your service! We appreciate you more than you know.”

Thanks to our amazing Kaysville community for supporting #CopsAndLemonade! This is by far one of our favorite things about summertime. λ
