KAYSVILLE—Fall is almost here and what better way to celebrate than a leisurely stroll along the paths of the USU Botanical Center searching for scarecrows hidden throughout. The Scarecrow Walk is a free family event with 70 scarecrows on display that runs now through Sept. 18.

“The scarecrows are made by families, businesses and other organizations,” said Susie Jones, volunteer/membership coordinator. “They get an actual form of the skeletal part and build on that.”

People can walk around on their own from dawn to dusk, she said. “It’s about ¾ mile if you do the whole loop. I’d recommend doing the whole thing to see all the scarecrows.”

There will also be a straw maze for kids, said Jones. “You can vote for your favorite scarecrow and the top three will get prizes donated by Lagoon.”

Last year was their first year, she said. “We had about 1,200 people come. It’s a lot of fun. Come enjoy it with your family.”
