John (Jack) Christian Ericksen 1939 – 2023

John (Jack) Christian Ericksen, born on Sept. 22, 1939, to Merlin Ericksen and Elva Roueche Rugg, returned home to his earthly and Heavenly Parents on Oct. 16, 2023.  Jack is survived by his wife Anne Tuttle; three daughters, Pam Farr (Rob), Tami Timothy (Bruce), and Stacey Marchant (Michael); 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and his sister Vicki Madson (RJ). He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Doreen Jeski; one grandchild, Todd Timothy; and one great grandchild, Claire Hansen.

For Jack, love came early. At age 16, he and Anne (age 16) received their parents’ blessings and were married in Ogden, Utah on June 27, 1956. They were later sealed for time and all eternity on March 29, 1962, in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jack worked for Consolidated Freightways for 46 years, beginning at the entry level position to support his family at age 16. He was respected as a person with undeviating integrity, empathy, and knowledge and advanced in his career in his positions of choice.  Once he was offered the position of Terminal Manager in another state but turned it down because he did not want to relocate his family away from his family in the Salt Lake Valley and it would mean giving up doing the work he enjoyed the most.

Jack was a gifted athlete who enjoyed skiing, tennis, bowling, and golf; even getting two holes-in-one during his lifetime. But his greatest love was serving others. He was always looking out for others, whether it be a stranger on the street or a neighbor next door. He served his Savior in many ways including serving a Church mission to the Cherry Hills New Jersey Mission, as a temple worker in the Bountiful Temple, as financial clerk for seven bishops, helping someone in need, and caring for his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at the Centerville 11th Ward Chapel, 270 N. 300 East, Centerville, Utah. A viewing will be held Monday evening Oct. 23, 2023, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah and Tuesday morning from 10 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.

Services will be streamed live on Jack’s obituary at www.russonmortuary.com.

Until we meet again, reunited as a family for all eternity. We love you Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother, and Best Friend Forever.
