Free preschool and elementary aged youth mental health screenings

Oct 18, 2024 01:48PM ● By Anna Pro
Registration is now open for youth mental health screenings for preschool to
6th grade aged youth. This is a time for parents and youth to check in with a mental health
professional for free. The screening will address social and emotional needs, anxiety, depression,
trauma, and safety concerns. Hosted by Davis HELPS, this event will be held in person, at Davis
Behavioral Health in Layton, on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024.
Appointments are 30 minutes long, and are available starting at 4 p.m. and ending at 7 p.m. The
screenings will take place at Davis Behavioral Health, which is located at 934 S. Main St., Layton, UT, 84041. Parents have until Wednesday, Oct. 23 to sign up at dbhutah.org/screening, or they can call Angie Smith from Davis Behavioral Health at (801) 336-1742. A parent or legal guardian must be present at the appointment.
Prior to the appointment, a parent and child will fill out an online screening questionnaire. At the
appointment, the clinician will discuss screening questionnaire results and talk about if follow-up is needed. Both the screening and the meeting are free. The screening is not a full psychological
evaluation and a clinical diagnosis will not be made.
