A domestic situation at Seasons Of Layton where a man had barricaded himself inside his apartment, has been resolved and the area has been cleared. One man was found deceased inside his apartment, a Layton Police Department social media post said. No other information was available.

Earlier in the day, Layton Police responded to the apartment complex near Hillfield Road and Antelope Drive. Police said shots were fired by the man but there were no reports of injuries.

“Three schools were placed on secure protocol,” said Chris Williams, Director of Communication & Operations for the Davis School District. Secure protocol means that doors are locked but school continues as normal.

“Those were Northridge High School, North Layton Junior High and Lincoln Elementary,” he said. “That started at 12:45 p.m. and was lifted at 2:03 p.m., one hour and 18 minutes. The Layton Police Department asked us to go into secure protocol because of a domestic incident in Layton.” None of the schools were threatened.
