Third-year coach Mikey Jerman returns a top-15 team from last season led by Aubree Tanner, Kate Monson and Haley Merrill.

Her players have been spending the offseason playing as much golf as possible to be comfortable on the course and “dialing in course management,” according to Jerman.

Newcomers that are expected to make contributions to the squad this season are Kennadie Dickson, Lexi Landvatter and Demi Traveller.

Also on the team this season are Ellie Baird, Sarah Dastrup, Lucy Harkness, Sammy Lewis, Leisl Olsen, Bella Rice, Sloane Robbins and Emersyn Seeley

“Our goals for this year are to make more competitive moves within the region,” said Jerman. “Starting our third season with returners that I have had the opportunity to spend time working with over the years will be incredibly beneficial to our team rapport on the course as well as during practice and qualifiers.”

Nine returning players, including four of their six state players from 2024 are back – seniors Ellie Baugh, Brinklee Bradshaw and Claire Norton and junior Kate Dewsnup – for the Farmington High girls golf program this season.

“They look forward to having a great year, but we have some youngsters that are coming up and ready to play,” said head coach Stephanie Belnap. “I think the young girls are excited and will bring some great competition between the teammates, which is always a good thing!”

The Phoenix welcomed 27 girls at tryouts which Belnap was thrilled about as she has struggled to have enough players to make teams in recent years.

“It’s so exciting how much girls golf has grown and to see how much joy it brings to them,” said Belnap. “It’s not only good for the game, it’s great for self-esteem and family life. You can go play golf with Dad and that’s always a fun thing.”

Freshmen Aspen Taylor and Eve Wilcox and senior Tynisha Coleman are notable newcomers to watch on the Darts squad this spring.

Others on the 2025 team are Abby Austin, Emily Dallas, Paisley Gibb, Leah Larsen, Kylie McKeown, Dallas Newsom, Avery Rice, Caroline Rigby and Gigi Tapia.

Belnap, who is in her sixth year, is being assisted by Bridgette Volk and Sarah Adams.

“Between programs over the summer and pre-season workouts, we have had a great beginning to our season,” said Belnap. “A special thanks to Tee Box in Kaysville for helping pre-season happen.”

Belnap is aiming to count four scores of 90 or better among her varsity lineup and having less than 32 putts per round. “We are going to focus on our short games and be able to improve our scores by having less chips and putts,” said Belnap. “We also always work on being patient with the process and keeping our emotions in check as golf can mess with emotions! I look forward to see their love for the game increase and to have fun along the way!”

Davis and Farmington begin their seasons at Glen Eagle March 18 and are also scheduled to compete at Remuda March 26, Valley View April 10, Riverside April 17, The Barn April 21, Davis Park April 29 before a two-day region tournament at Lakeside May 1 and Meadowbrook May 7. The 6A state tournament will be held at Meadowbrook May 19-20.
