Prep lacrosse teams battle preseason foes, elements

BOUNTIFUL—The Redhawks boys are 1-1 after dropping a 9-4 match at Alta then beating East 10-2. Their match at Park City was snowed out on Tuesday. Junior Carter Terry has led Bountiful with four goals so far, and junior Dawson Allsop has scored three times.
The Lady Redhawks were awarded a forfeit victory against West on Monday by a score of 15-3 (no actual scoring for either team). Bountiful beat Copper Hills 13-10 last week and is now 2-2 on the year. Junior Claire Jensen leads the team in scoring with eight goals.
DAVIS—The Darts remain 2-0 as they were last week, with no new matches played. They are scheduled to play at Park City on Friday. Seniors Loke Donigan (8 goals) and Rocky Edleman (7 goals) lead the team in scoring.
The Lady Darts are 3-1 after a 12-7 loss at Riverton last week. Senior Esther Facer has scored 17 goals for Davis this year, with sophomore Kaebrie Reed adding 10. Davis was set to play Corner Canyon on Thursday.
FARMINGTON—The Phoenix boys are 1-2 and were set to play Viewmont on Wednesday. Senior Mitch Milne leads the team in scoring with nine goals, and sophomore Kei Beynon has scored seven times.
The Farmington girls are 2-1 on the year after a tough 10-9 loss to Mountain Ridge. Leading the Phoenix thus far senior Clara Russon, a newcomer this year, with eight goals. Junior Kassie Moffat and senior Kate Carter both have seven goals.
VIEWMONT—The Viking boys are 2-1 entering this week’s game against Farmington. Junior Luke Cluff has scored 13 of the team’s 34 goals through three games.
The Lady Vikings remain unbeaten at 3-0 and will play at Springville on Friday. Junior Cecilia Walton has scored 21 goals and senior Brienna Wallis has 11 for Viewmont.
WOODS CROSS—Woods Cross is 3-2 in boys’ play, with the Wildcats coming off an 11-6 win at Timpview on Monday. Senior Carter Kringlen leads the team with 11 goals, while junior teammate Dawson Staten has nine.
Woods Cross girls are off to another fast start at 4-0. They were snowed out at Layton on Tuesday. Three Wildcats are already in double digit scoring this season: senior Emmy Richards with 15 goals, sophomore Lilia Dunn with 13 and senior Rylee Linton with 11.
Weather permitting, there are lots of matches scheduled through the middle of next week.
