Davis lacrosse boys still unbeaten at 5-0

High school lacrosse season continued last week before this week’s Spring Break. Here’s a look at how the local teams are doing.

BOUNTIFUL—The boys are 4-2 following a 7-5 loss to Olympus on Friday. Senior Tate Hathaway and junior Dawson Allsop scored for the Redhawks, who were outshot 22-12 by the Titans (5-1 on the year). Bountiful will host Copper Hills on Tuesday.

The Lady Redhawks are 2-3 on the season. They lost 18-5 to Highland last week. Junior Claire Jensen and sophomore Brynna Castleton both scored twice. Bountiful will host Cedar Valley on April 9.

DAVIS—The boys are 5-0, having throttled American Fork 16-2 last week. Davis was led by senior Luke Donigan with six goals and senior Rocky Edelman with four. The Darts return to action next Tuesday, hosting Syracuse.

The Lady Darts are now 4-2 on the year, having lost 10-7 at Brighton last week. Seven different Davis players scored against the Bengals. Davis plays at Syracuse on Tuesday.

FARMINGTON—Farmington’s boys team is 4-2 at the break. The Phoenix beat Highland 11-3 last Thursday as sophomore Kai Beynon scored four times and senior Mitch Milne added three. Farmington hosts Fremont next Tuesday.

The ladies are also 4-2 this season. They lost a 17-15 slugfest to Olympus (metaphor – no punches thrown). Seniors Hailey Larsen and Alexandra MacAulay each scored six times for the Phoenix, which will play at Park City on Monday.

VIEWMONT—The boys team is 3-3 after an 11-10 loss to Syracuse. Junior Mason Gerrard scored five times for the Vikings, with junior Luke Cluff adding three. Viewmont travels to Timpview on April 11 to resume play.

The Lady Vikings remain at 5-0, having not played since the 20-3 win over Green Valley on March 24. They will resume play by hosting Layton next Wednesday. Junior Cecelia Walton has 32 of the team’s 81 goals this year. Senior Brienna Wallis has scored 22 goals as well.

WOODS CROSS—The Wildcat boys team is 4-4 on the season. They beat West Jordan 17-1 in their final match before the break. Woods Cross did not report scoring stats for that contest. The Wildcats resume play next Tuesday at Provo.

The Lady Cats are an impressive 7-1 on the year after a 15-13 win over Corner Canyon. Senior Rylee Linton scored seven goals for Woods Cross, with sophomore Lila Dunn adding three. The Wildcats will return to the pitch next Friday when they travel to Mountain Ridge.
