Davis

Davis beat Syracuse 11-10 April 8, scoring four runs in the ninth inning and then holding on for the win.

“The game went well with both teams hitting the ball well,” said head coach Todd Street.” We had a game-changing home run by Cambell Christensen that gave us the confidence to pull off the victory. It was a tough battle. We hit the ball well as a team and did not have any errors. Jewel Korth came up big for us at shortstop getting numerous put outs. Jewel got us started batting as well.”

Christensen’s four RBIs led the Darts while Sophia Slouf (two RBIs), Korth (one), Adelyn Turpin (one), Norah Sunderland (one), Riley Jaques (one) and Hadlee Isaacs (one) also contributed offensively. Serena Roth had 10 strikeouts in the circle to pitch Davis to the win.

“It’s nice to start region 1-0,” Street said. “We hope to continue getting better each game.”

Against Fremont April 10, the Darts won 11-2, scoring nine runs in the first inning and coasting to the win.

Turpin led the offense with three RBIs with Sunderland and Chloe Peery each driving in two runs and Slouf, Jaques and Christensen each recording an RBI.

“We played a great defensive game highlighted by great pitching from Serena!” said Street. “Our middle infield was on fire with Jewel and Adelyn. Chloe made some great plays in left field. Nor had a rocket shot home run. It’s great to go 2-0 in region play.”

Davis dominated Roy April 11, winning 15-0. The Darts scored two runs in each of the first two innings and then put the game away in the third with 10 runs.

Jaques and Peery both drove in three runs with Christensen, Slouf and Turpin each recording two RBIs and Sunderland and Brynlee Beckstrand brought in one. Christensen struck out seven Royals batters to lead the Darts to the win from the circle.

Davis sits in first in Region 1 with a 3-0 mark and an 8-6 overall record.

Bountiful

#4 Bountiful defeated Bonneville 7-1 April 8, scoring all of its runs by the fourth inning and giving up a late run to the Lakers in the win.

Ella Miller had a dominant game, striking out 14 batters and bringing in four runs from the plate. Claire Yates added two RBIs for the offense.

Against Viewmont April 10, the Vikings shut out the Vikings 12-0. The Redhawks led by nine runs three innings into the game and then added three late runs.

Everyone got involved offensively with Isabeau Hoff bringing in three runs, Aimee Moore two and Miller, Yates, McKinley Duryea, Aspyn Danner, Dylan Carpenter and Ava Howe one each. Carpenter struck out seven batters in the win.

Kiley Gazafy had four RBIs while Lill Topham (two RBIs), Brooklyn Wright and Sophia Strong (one) each were part of the offense.

Against Weber April 10, Farmington won 20-10. The Phoenix team got down by four runs in the first inning before flipping the game with 11 runs over the next two innings and pouring on more offense in the big win.

Fields and Rogers both recorded three RBIs with Gazafy, Andrus and Hadley Crowley each driving in a run. Fields picked up the win in the circle.

Farmington is now 2-1 in the Region 1 standings and 8-4 this spring.

Viewmont

Viewmont lost 18-4 to Clearfield April 8. The Vikings got down early and gave up 12 runs over the final few innings in the loss.
