Lacrosse recap: Davis boys stay perfect at 10-0 on the year

Davis High’s boys lacrosse team remains undefeated as play continued this week. Here’s a look at results through Tuesday afternoon,

BOUNTIFUL—The boys’ team is 6-4 on the year, 1-1 in league following a 17-1 win over Bonneville. Easton Lowe scored four times and Madden Rieck scored three times for the Redhawks. Bountiful was set to play at Roy and Northridge later this week.

The girls are 3-5 on the season, 1-1 in league. Claire Jensen scored six times in leading the Redhawks to a 16-7 win over Bonneville. They will host Roy and Northridge later this week.

DAVIS–The Darts remain unbeaten at 10-0 overall, 5-0 in boys’ league play. Davis beat Farmington 15-5 on Tuesday. Luke Donigan continues to lead the team in scoring with 37 goals, with teammate Rocky Edelman adding 24. Davis visited Syracuse on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Darts are 8-4 on the year, 4-1 in league play. Davis lost to Farmington 16-5, suffering its first two-game losing streak on the year. Esther Facer leads Davis in scoring with 40 goals. Sophie Karras has scored 25 goals this season. Davis hosted Syracuse on Thursday.

FARMINGTON–The boys are 9-3 this year, 4-1 in league after their loss to Davis. Kai Beynon leads the team with 29 goals and teammate Mitch Milne has 25. Farmington traveled to Fremont on Thursday.

Farmington’s girls are 9-3 on the year and lead the league with a 5-0 record. In the 16-5 win over Davis, Alexandra MacAulay led the way with six goals, and Kathleen Moffit added four scores. The Phoenix hosted Fremont on Thursday.

VIEWMONT–The Vikings are 4-8 on the year 1-1 in boys league play. They lost to Skyline 12-6 on Monday in a non-league game. Mason Gerrard had four of Viewmont’s goals. The Vikings hosted Bonneville on Wednesday.

Viewmont’s girls lead the region with a 2-0 record and are 9-1 overall. They pounded Northridge 24-12 last week as Cecilia Walton had eight goals, with teammates Maddie Gaskill and Caitlin Phelps each adding four. Bonneville and Woods Cross are on the girls’ schedule later this week.

WOODS CROSS–The Wildcat boys are 8-4 on the year, 2-0 in league after dominating Clearfield 19-3. Lucas Hammond and Dawson Staten lead the team in scoring, each with 21 goals through 11 games. Woods Cross will host Box Elder and Viewmont later this week.

The Lady Wildcats lead the region with a 2-0 mark and are 9-2 overall. Woods Cross beat Clearfield 12-6 behind Rylee Linton who scored five times. Teammates Emmy Richards and Lila Dunn each added three goals. The ladies traveled to Box Elder and Viewmont later this week.
