Davis, Woods Cross are region lacrosse leaders

Just two more weeks of league play before the state high school lacrosse playoffs begin. Here’s a look at games played through Tuesday.

BOUNTIFUL–The boys are 7-5 on the year, 2-2 in region play. Last week Bountiful beat Roy 9-0 and lost 6-5 in overtime to Bonneville. Against Roy, Ben Allred scored three times and teammates Madden Rieck and Mason Tidwell both scored twice. Easton Lowe scored three of the Redhawks’ five goals at Bonneville.

The girls’ team is 5-5 on the year, 3-1 in league. They defeated both Roy and Bonneville last week, by scores of 13-8 and 9-6. Lucy Johnson scored six times and both Ella Gillian and Claire Jensen had five goals in the wins.

Both teams were set to take on Viewmont and Clearfield later this week.

DAVIS–The Darts remain unbeaten in boys’ play at 12-0, 6-0 in region following an 18-5 win over Fremont. The box score was unavailable at press time. Davis will host Layton and Northridge later this week.

The Lady Darts are 10-5 overall, 6-1 in league. Davis beat Fremont 8-5 on Tuesday, again with no box score added by Tuesday night. Davis was scheduled to play Layton on Thursday.

FARMINGTON–The boys are 10-3 on the year, second in region at 5-1. Farmington played at Weber Tuesday evening but scores were not posted before press deadline. It hosted Syracuse on Thursday.

The Lady Phoenix are 10-3 this year, first in region at 6-0. Farmington played Weber on Tuesday but scores were not posted before press deadline. It visited Syracuse on Thursday.

VIEWMONT–The Vikings are 5-9 in boys play, 2-2 overall. Viewmont lost to Woods Cross 11-4 last week. Gage Staples scored twice for the Vikings, who were set to play Bountiful on Thursday.

Viewmont’s girls’ team is 11-2 on the year, second in region at 3-1. They beat Ridgeline 18-12 in a non-region game. Cecilia Walton scored nine goals for the Vikings in that game, with Brienna Wallis adding five and Maddie Gaskill three. Viewmont hosted Bountiful and Box Elder later in the week.

WOODS CROSS–The boys are 10-4 overall and second in region at 4-0. They will play at Bonneville and Roy later this week. No scoring was reported in the win over Viewmont.

The Lady Wildcats are 11-2 on the year and first in region at 4-0. They beat Viewmont 16-9 as Rylee Walton led the team with seven goals. Emmy Richards and Lila Dunn each scored three times. Bonneville and Roy visited Woods Cross later this week.
