FARMINGTON—The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) plans two overnight closures of I-15 in Davis County this weekend and next to demolish the Shepard Lane bridge.

Southbound I-15 between 200 North and Park Lane will close June 14, from 9:30 p.m. through 11 a.m. on June 15. The following week, June 21, northbound I-15 will close between 200 North and Park Lane from 9:30 p.m. through 11 a.m. on June 22.

 The closures will provide crews a safe work zone to demolish the Shepard Lane bridge that was permanently closed in May. During the closures, drivers will be detoured to U.S. Route 89 and Main Street in Kaysville.

The new interchange at Shepard Lane in Farmington is being built to reduce congestion and enhance safety in the area, a UDOT release said. The interchange will cross over Union Pacific Railroad and the Utah Transit Authority tracks to create another connection to local roads. 

According to UDOT, the project will also improve pedestrian and bike connectivity along Park Lane and the ramps associated with I-15, US-89 and Legacy Parkway (State Route 67). The new interchange is anticipated to open in late 2026.
