HILL AIR FORCE BASE—The 419th Fighter Wing will take to the skies to honor Independence Day celebrations with a series of F-35 Lightning II flyovers across Utah. This tradition is in its 37th year of connecting with communities through these high-visibility demonstrations of airpower on the Fourth of July. The flyovers are a tribute to the values of freedom, unity and service.

Pilots from the Reserve 419th Fighter Wing are scheduled to fly the F-35 over multiple cities and towns. The sorties will be generated by maintainers from the 388th Fighter Wing and airfield operators from the 75th Air Base Wing, according to a HAFB release. 

Lt. Col. Justin Cleveland and Maj. Daniel Huber, Maj. Justin Newman and Maj. Dustin Smail will lead the flyover formation. Together they bring over 8,000 combined flight hours in military aviation experience. 

The public can watch for the flyovers between 8:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. local time on July 4. Flight paths and timing are subject to change due to operational requirements or weather.
