NORTH SALT LAKE—The public is invited to a Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) meeting Sept. 24 to learn more about a draft State Environmental Study (SES) for proposed improvements to Legacy Parkway between Farmington and I-215 that include adding a lane in each direction. The project is part of a larger plan to meet travel demands through 2050.

UDOT will build the lanes between existing lanes, northbound and southbound that will not increase the overall footprint of the road. The improvements will address the demands of current and future travel and complement other improvements to transit and pedestrian/cycling projects, a UDOT release said.

“While improving Legacy helps us prevent gridlock in 2050, it also makes travel safer and easier for people today,” said Eric Chaston, UDOT Project Manager. “This project is part of a bigger approach that includes roads, transit, biking and walking. We look forward to hearing from the public about our plans.”

The meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Foxboro Elementary School, 1120 W. 1100 North, North Salt Lake from 5-7 p.m. The public is encouraged to review the draft SES and provide feedback.

The draft SES and a prerecorded presentation covering the public meeting materials is available on the study website, publicinput.com/legacyparkwaystudy.

A 30-day comment period began Sept. 10 and is open through Oct. 10, 2025. Formal comments on the draft SES can be submitted in the following ways:
