Centerville Junior High ninth grader Lillie Taylor was surprised recently when the Zions Bank Centerville Branch announced that she had been awarded a $500 savings account as a regional winner, a part of the Zions Bank’s Pays for A’s program.

“Recognizing students like Lillie helps reinforce the value of hard work and academic excellence,” said Jeff Barger, manager of the Zions Bank Centerville Branch.“We’re pleased to support young learners who are committed to their education.”

Pays for A’s rewards local students ages 12 to 18 for scholastic success. Students bring their most current term-end report card into any Zions Bank location, and they’ll receive $1 per A deposited into their account, or 50 cents per A if they opt for cash. Students do not need a Zions Bank account to participate. Students are entered into a drawing for each A on their report card for a chance to win one of the 18 regional prizes, each worth $500 and one grand prize worth $1,000 in each state.

Lillie was selected out of more than 2,000 entries for the $500 savings account reward.
