FARMINGTON—Drivers traveling on southbound I-15 Friday and Saturday should be prepared for delays as lane closures take place Jan. 9 through early Saturday, Jan. 10.

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will begin closing lanes Jan. 9 at 9 p.m. on southbound I-15 from Park Lane/North Station (Exit 325) in Farmington to Parrish Lane (Exit 319) in Centerville for pedestrian bridge work. Southbound I-15 will fully close at 10:30 p.m. and remain closed until 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10. Lanes will gradually reopen, with all lanes open by 7 a.m. 

The work is part of the Shepard Lane Improved project. UDOT is building a new interchange at Shepard Lane in Farmington to reduce congestion and enhance safety. One lane in each direction opened on the new overpass in November 2025, a UDOT release said.

The project will also improve pedestrian and bike connections along Park Lane, and the ramps associated with I-15, US-89, and Legacy Parkway (State Route 67), according to the release.
