Expect nightly closures on I-15 in Davis County through Feb. 7

FARMINGTON—The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is warning drivers to expect nightly delays on I-15 in Davis County starting Monday, Feb. 2 and continuing through Saturday, Feb. 7 for pedestrian bridge work.

North and southbound I-15 will be reduced to one lane starting Monday, Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. and reopening by 7 a.m. each morning.

These closures support a carefully coordinated effort to install sections and foundations of a new pedestrian bridge into place for the Shepard Lane Improved project, according to a UDOT release.

Crews are working within a very constrained area where I-15, US-89, Legacy Parkway and a railroad line converge or overlap. This work requires multiple overnight closures in order to safely maneuver bridge components through one of Northern Utah’s most complex transportation corridors, the release said.

The pedestrian bridge is approximately 20% complete so additional lane closures are expected in the area. The bridge is anticipated to open later this year.
