South Davis Metro Fire Chief passes away

The fire service community is mourning the loss of Fire Chief Greg Stewart, who passed away Feb. 20. Stewart was 51.
Stewart has been with South Davis Metro Fire (SDMF) since 2001. He has served as Fire Chief since October 2024. Throughout his career with SDMF he has held every position as firefighter, engineer, captain, battalion chief and deputy fire chief.
“Chief Stewart was a visionary leader with a deep commitment to serve others and his community,” said a statement from the SDMF. “He was most known for his natural ability to see the potential in his people and actively invest in their growth and development.”
The family has asked for privacy and respect at this time.
