International Women's Day luncheon set for March 7

FARMINGTON — Community members are invited to attend the 13th annual International Women’s Day Luncheon hosted by local members of Soroptimist International, Saturday, March 7, at the Farmington Arts Center, 120 South Main Street.

The event will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is open to the public. Tickets are $30, with registration required by March 3.

This year’s featured speaker will be Rebecca Dutson, president and CEO of the Children’s Center Utah, an organization focused on providing mental health services for very young children. Organizers say her remarks will highlight the importance of early mental health care and community support services.

In addition to the keynote presentation, the luncheon program will include the awarding of student scholarships through the Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards and Angel Wings Awards. Several local charitable organizations will also receive financial support as part of the event.

Funds for these awards are raised through annual Soroptimist activities, including community events such as garden tours, fashion shows, and holiday home tours.

Organizers say the luncheon aims both to celebrate International Women’s Day and to highlight the volunteer organization’s mission of supporting women and girls through education, financial assistance, and community programs worldwide.
