As the nation celebrates its 250th birthday this summer, numerous volunteer and donation projects are planned across the country. The Bountiful Food Pantry is one of the participants.
Pantry officials are encouraging families or groups to organize any number of volunteer projects during the months of June, July and August, as the summer of celebration commences. Pantry executive director Rebekah Anderson offers several suggestions:
- Host a food drive and donate at least 250 items to the pantry. Donations can be dropped off during open hours for verification and for receipt of a certificate.
- Make and donate 250 Pantry Packs. These packs of food are distributed to the Davis School District to provide meals for students during week nights and/or on weekends. Thousands of students in the Davis District suffer food insecurities.
- Make a cash donation of $250 to the pantry for purchase of food to feed the hungry.
- Assemble 250 bags of food to distribute in the Bountiful Food Pantry market.
- Donate 250 volunteer hours at the Pantry during this summer and/or through the end of 2026.
