Clearfield High soccer player commits to Vermont State University
CLEARFIELD—Vermont State University Lyndon men’s soccer has added defensive depth with the commitment of Jett Burnett, Layton, for the fall 2026 semester.
Burnett, a senior at Clearfield High School has officially committed and will enroll in the Outdoor Education, Leadership, and Tourism program. A starting defender for one season, Burnett has been a steady presence along the Falcons’ back line, contributing to all three of the team’s wins during a 3–10 campaign.
In addition to his high school experience, Burnett has competed at the club level for Utah Real and La Roca soccer clubs. Off the field, he has maintained strong academic performance through honors and Advanced Placement coursework, while also gaining technical skills in welding through Davis Technical College.
His high school coach credited Burnett’s discipline and focus on daily responsibilities as key factors in his development.
Head coach Zach Blaser said the program is adding a capable defender. “Jett is an aggressive player both on and off the ball,” Blaser said. “He has strong defensive positioning and is comfortable playing under pressure. We look forward to adding him to our back line this season.”
