FARMINGTON—Davis Education Foundation received a donation of $3,150 recently from D.L. Evans Bank to use toward the 2026 No Kid Hungry effort to prevent childhood hunger. This is the first round of the bank’s donations for the 2026 Employee Directed Donation Initiative.

Bank employees nominate a nonprofit organization to receive the donation. Jordan Harrison, D.L. Evans Bank Vice President Senior Commercial Loan Officer and Branch Manager at the Layton branch nominated the Foundation.

“The bank has a nomination program and they do it twice a year,” said Harrison. “They encourage employees to find a nonprofit organization that specifically deals with affordable housing. We have a few areas that we try to focus on.”

Davis Education Foundation on a few fronts meets that criteria for the bank, he said. “The bank sets aside a certain amount of money for each of those (nonprofits). We have a committee that will go through the nominations and then award based on those nominations by the employees.”

Harrison said he nominated the Foundation because it has some initiatives that align with the bank’s values. “Specifically when it comes to homelessness amongst the kids in the Davis School District. The food pantry is also one that we’ve donated to in the past.”

This isn’t the first donation the bank made to the Foundation, he said. “It was one that was more sizable for us that kind of fits what we’re trying to do and an organization that we wanted to support in the community that’s doing good things.”

“We depend on community partners like D.L. Evans Bank to make programming for students and teachers in Davis School District possible,” said Davis Education Foundation Executive Director Kara Toone. “It’s incredible that they approached us independently wanting to address childhood hunger, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support.”
