The parade is July 2 at 6:15 and starts at 200 North and 100 East.
Looking for something fun for the whole family while getting a little exercise? Decorate a bike, jump on and ride in the Kids Bike Parade, July 3 at 6:15 p.m. as part of Bountiful’s America250 events. The parade route starts at 200 North and 100 East, heads south on 100 East and down 200 South and ends on the south side of Town Square where bikers will ride through a balloon arch finish line.
“The committee really wanted to target kids so they felt like they had something special to participate in and show patriotism,” said former City Councilmember and America250 co-chair Cecilee Price-Huish. “We felt it was something doable even for the youngest of kids to come and be part of the community.”
There will be prizes and fun music, she said. “The judges are the mayor (Kate Bradshaw), District Court Judge Tom Kay and NBA star and Bountiful High alum, Sam Merrill.”
The Bountiful High School Mountain Bike team will give a demonstration of bike tricks, said Price-Huish. “It’s a good way for them to be role models to these younger kids and encourage them to possibly stay involved in biking as they get older.”
The Farmers Market will be in full swing, she said. “The popular band Bridging Betty will play on the main stage. We hope people will have a good time and make this a tradition that will build year over year.”
