DAVIS COUNTY—Tune up those bikes and get in shape because it’s time for the annual Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride: Disco After Dark set for July 31. Discover Davis, in partnership with Antelope Island State Park and sponsors Chevron and Intermountain Health invite cyclists, no matter the age or skill level, to experience Antelope Island after dark.

The bike ride is held each year in July centered around the full moon. The date changes to accommodate the best night sky but the other festivities remain the same, a release said.

The celebration starts at 7 p.m. at the Antelope Island Marina, with a view of a spectacular sunset over the Great Salt Lake. The pre-ride festival features local vendor booths, food trucks, music, and thousands of dollars in prize giveaways, as well as the popular Costume and Bike Decorating Contest, where riders display creative, glowing designs. The 24-mile round-trip course officially opens at 10 p.m., according to the release. 

“The Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride is a signature event for Davis County that blends our vibrant community spirit with our incredible natural assets,” said Davis County Commissioner Bob Stevenson. “It’s a memorable, family-friendly evening where riders can experience the island’s wildlife and stunning night views in a completely unique way.”

In addition to the fun, the Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride provides essential support for ongoing park improvements and upkeep.

“As a true legacy event, the Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride brings our community and visitors together for a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Jessica Merrill, Tourism Director at Discover Davis. “Year after year, we are thrilled to welcome families and cyclists from across the country, all coming together to support Antelope Island State Park.”

Registration is open to riders of all ages. Registration closes on July 29. Participants can register online, with tiers structured as follows:

Adult (Ages 13+) $40

Child (Ages 5-12) $35

Passenger (Ages 1-6) Free (Must be in a bike carrier or bike seat)
